Very interesting. Summer of '07, I was doing a research project requiring access to the Codex Inscriptionum Latinorum, to be found in very few places worldwide, the Bodleian being among them. So tripped across the pond, staying with daughter and SIL in Botley, walking daily to and from the Bod (as SIL terms it). I'm wondering just how many holders of an Oxford MA, MLitt or (DPhil)--which includes my relatives--took the jab out of love for Alma Mater. [My Bodleian ID card is one of my most precious "vacation souvenirs']
